What is a Hot Stone Sauna?
A hot stone or hot rock sauna uses an electric heater fitted with a stone basket, to heat stones and increase the temperature of the sauna. As the stones reach the optimal temperature, they radiate a dry heat throughout the sauna space. The user can then pour water over the hot stones to release bursts of steam, producing a steam cloud that increases the humidity of the sauna. Hot stone Saunas generally operate at a higher temperature than an infrared sauna and can produce a dry or humid heat depending on the preference of the user.
